Module 4: Prevention of Sexualized Violence

The goals of this module are to emphasize the interconnectedness of power structures and how they contribute to violence.

Learners will be able to better understand:

Gender expression, identity, and how roles/expectations shape our experiences
What constitutes a healthy relationship and how this can be discussed with participants via activities/dialogues
The components of bystander intervention and overcoming the bystander effect
Men’s roles in gender-based and sexual violence prevention, including methods of engaging men in these conversations
Ways to engage in violence prevention efforts within postsecondary institutions
Debunking myths about prevention that individualize responses to the problem
